ACNESTAR Gel review (~with pics~)

Hope you all doing well. This is my first review and I am so excited to share my experience with you all. So, as you can see I am going to review about the product which is publicized extravagantly in the commercials and recently launched by the very renowned company – Mankind Pharma Ltd as an anti-acne topical ointment named as ACNESTAR gel. The product is endorsed by the beautiful Bollywood actress Shruti Hassan.

A little intro about my skin, I have Oily/Combination skin and which is prone to acne and blemishes. Even if I do get pimples, it’s because of the dreadful monthly cycle. I recently got one big bump on the face, under my eye area to be specific. However, the pimple was not filled with any kind of PUSS and it was just plain-flat and RED (very horrendous). Not painful though!!

Let's be quite frank with each other. You must have tried zillions of instant-pimple-removal products which do not appear to work as CLAIMED and not to forget about those highly recommended face packs and home remedies, which AGAIN, does not seem to be working, especially when we expect it to work as a MAGIC. Unfortunately, I have faced the same situation while treating pimple(s) on my own. Coming back to the product, I have been using this product ONCE in a day for about two weeks. And, here I am ready to share my views with you all as I don't think I need to use this product ANYMORE..... WHY????? Scroll down to know more.

First, let's talk about the product. It's a clear and transparent gel with very subtle medicinal fragrance.

PACKAGING:

Acnestar gel is available in a buffed and attractive tube packaging with a white screw cap. That's make it travel friendly. Detailed information about the product and different forms and causes of acne/pimples is mentioned in the pamphlet provided inside the box.

COMPOSITION:

Clindamycin Phosphate IP(1.0%): Clindamycin is a topical lincomycin antibiotic. It works by killing sensitive bacteria that cause acne and reducing the amount of free fatty acids that irritate the skin surface.
Nicotinamide IP(4.0%): Nicotinamide has an anti-inflammatory effect which is helpful in the treatment of acne.

Note: These two ingredients may not be suitable for all skin types. It is advisable to do a patch test or consult your dermatologist before using the gel directly onto your skin.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY:

This product is widely available in the local drugstores and chemists near you at a very affordable price of Rs.70 for 15g.

SHELF LIFE: 

24 months from the manufactured date.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:

At night, after cleaning my face with Himalaya Neem face wash. I simply apply or dab it on the specific area where I have pimple(s). It's a very light gel which easily gets absorbed into the skin without leaving any residue. However, after the application, the area on which the gel has been applied turns a little red and it gives a mild tingling sensation which goes away in no time. It will not going to vanish or remove your pimple from the very first usage, it takes a week or so to show the result. 

You have to be patient because it may take longer than that also. I am not sure about the fact that it cures old acne marks or not as I don't have any old acne scars to test the product on. In my case, the pimple was gone without leaving any mark. That was really impressive. The results of this product can vary from person to person and also depends on the type of acne and skin you have. I am so happy that my pimple has gone completely and I am not using this product anymore.

PROS:

• Acnestar gel is formulated with two most powerful ingredients which have been used in most of the acne products and are very effective.
• This gel does not have any drying effects on my skin and as per the ingredients used in the products it should be suitable for all skin types.
• Very effective in clearing new pimples or acne without leaving any mark.
• Does not have any side effects -- on my skin.
• Light weight and gets easily absorbed into the skin.
• Very cost effective.
• Widely available.

CONS:

• It makes skin red after application following with the mild tingling sensation. Hence, a patch test is a must for all skin types.
• This product is not a permanent solution for the pimples and acne.
• It is not meant to remove the pimple instantly or overnight. So, one has to be patient as the healing process may take longer.

OVERALL REVIEW:

I really liked the product as it has actually done what it claims. It's very light on the skin and easily gets absorbed without feeling sticky. It is not going to give you an instant relief. You need to be patient for that, and it totally depends on you and your skin type. But for me, I will surely buy this product AGAIN!!!
